I’m Dennis Cabella, the creator of Max Neural Studio, a free plugin for Autodesk 3ds Max.

Version 1.7.0 stable brings DLSS 5 neural enhancement to Arnold and V-Ray GPU. Explore your own 3D artwork in the live viewport, shape the look, and process final renders or saved images.

New in 1.7.0

V-Ray GPU Viewport IPR and Render and process now work alongside Arnold. Adjustable OptiX denoise cleans the image before neural enhancement, and switching the plugin denoise does not restart V-Ray IPR.

Compare the original and DLSS 5 result with buttons or the draggable divider. Reopen your latest result anytime with Open last render.

Find your look. Keep your balance.

Choose 1–4 neural passes, adjust Effect intensity, then use Blend with original to shape your result. Live blending updates while you drag without repeating neural processing.

Blend changes the actual final image, not just the preview. Your chosen mix applies to exported renders, images and videos. 0 keeps the full enhanced result; 1 brings back the pre-neural original.

This tool supports artistic work: you create the scene, materials, lighting, camera and composition. Good results start with a well-prepared scene and correctly configured exposure.

Tested with 3ds Max 2023, Arnold and V-Ray GPU 6 Hotfix 3. V-Ray CPU and other Max versions have not all been validated. Runtime components are set up separately through the plugin.

This independent project uses a community neural runtime containing modified NVIDIA components. It is not an official NVIDIA product or official DLSS 5 integration.
